Sweet and juicy pineapple chunks caramelized in the air fryer for a tropical treat any time of the year.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium fresh pineapple (about 3 cups chunks)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prep the pineapple: Start by cutting off the top and bottom of the pineapple.
- Stand it upright on your cutting board and slice off the skin in strips—be careful to remove any ‘eyes’ with a small knife.
- Cut the fruit into 1-inch chunks, leaving you with juicy bites.
- Toss with flavor: Place those vibrant pineapple chunks into a mixing bowl.
- Drizzle in the oil, sprinkle the cinnamon, and add honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Toss gently until every piece glistens, bathed in sweet warmth.
- Preheat air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat for 2 minutes.
- Air fry pineapple: Arrange the pineapple chunks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking or stirring halfway through.
- Serve warm: Carefully remove the pineapple from the air fryer and enjoy!
Notes
Make-ahead tips: You can prep pineapple chunks in advance—store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Try serving with vanilla ice cream or in salads.
