Description

A perfect fusion of banana bread and brownies, these Banana Bread Brownies are fudgy, comforting, and filled with melting chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the banana mixture until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  10. Allow the brownies to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
