A perfect fusion of banana bread and brownies, these Banana Bread Brownies are fudgy, comforting, and filled with melting chocolate chips.

- 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the banana mixture until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
