- 4 cups frozen shredded hash browns
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage or bacon (optional)
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare your pan by lightly greasing it.
- Mix the thawed hash browns, melted butter, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Form the hash brown mixture into a crust in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Layer the cheese, sausage or bacon, bell pepper, and green onions on the crust.
- Add eggs by creating shallow depressions and cracking an egg into each.
- Final bake for 10 to 12 minutes until egg whites are set.
- Cool for 3 minutes before slicing and serving.
