Description

Delight in crispy wonton shells filled with savory chicken and vibrant veggies, topped with zesty sauce for an unforgettable taco experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced
  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro (for garnish)
  • Avocado (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil. Toss in minced garlic and ginger; sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add diced chicken breast and cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in chopped bell peppers and onions, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until tender.
  2. Season the Filling: Pour in soy sauce and stir to combine, allowing flavors to meld together. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Tacos: Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Fold it into a triangle, pressing edges to seal tightly, using water on fingers if necessary.
  4. Crisp the Tacos: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the wonton tacos on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  5. Prepare Toppings: While tacos bake, chop fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish. Prepare your sauce.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Drizzle tacos with sauce and top with fresh herbs or diced avocado. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the chicken filling in advance and store in the refrigerator for up to two days. Assemble the tacos just before baking for maximum crispness.
