Description

A delicious and comforting sandwich featuring crispy fried chicken, creamy Caesar dressing, fresh lettuce, and rich Parmesan cheese on a brioche bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 brioche buns, split
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Tomato slices

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they’re fully submerged. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
  2. Prepare the Dredging Station: Combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Dredge the Chicken: Remove chicken from the marinade and dredge in the flour mixture, then place on a wire rack.
  4. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the Chicken: Fry chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  6. Drain the Chicken: Remove chicken using a slotted spoon and place on a wire rack to drain.
  7. Combine Dressing Ingredients: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, Parmesan, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire, and black pepper.
  8. Emulsify the Dressing: Gradually whisk in olive oil until smooth and creamy.
  9. Toast the Buns (Optional): Lightly toast brioche buns.
  10. Spread the Dressing: Spread Caesar dressing on both halves of each bun.
  11. Add the Lettuce: Place chopped romaine on the bottom half of each bun.
  12. Layer with Chicken: Add crispy chicken on top of the lettuce.
  13. Finish with Parmesan: Sprinkle shaved Parmesan over the chicken.
  14. Tomato Option: Add tomato slices before capping the sandwich with the top bun.
  15. Serve Immediately: Enjoy while hot and crisp!

Notes

For extra crunch, consider marinating the chicken longer. Avoid overcrowding the pan while frying for best results.
