Description

Delightful crispy stacks of ham and cheese enveloped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets
  • 8 ounces of ham, sliced
  • 8 ounces of cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss), sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: mustard or your choice of sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles of desired size.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on half of the rectangles.
  4. Top with another rectangle of puff pastry and gently press down the edges to seal.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve warm with mustard or sauce if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead by assembling the stacks and keeping them in the fridge until ready to bake. For quick prep, use an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
