Delightful crispy stacks of ham and cheese enveloped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 package of puff pastry sheets
- 8 ounces of ham, sliced
- 8 ounces of cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss), sliced
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: mustard or your choice of sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles of desired size.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on half of the rectangles.
- Top with another rectangle of puff pastry and gently press down the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm with mustard or sauce if desired.
Notes
Make-ahead by assembling the stacks and keeping them in the fridge until ready to bake. For quick prep, use an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
