- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the halved cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
- Cut the rolled pastry into 4-inch squares.
- Place a spoonful of the cherry mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold the squares diagonally to form triangles and press the edges to seal.
- Arrange the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with whisked egg for a golden glaze.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
