Description

A delightful fusion of crispy fried chicken and buttery biscuits, drizzled with spicy hot honey for the ultimate comfort food experience.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 4 pieces of fried chicken (legs or breasts)
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: pickles or coleslaw for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until fully blended.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in buttermilk gently until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  6. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thickness.
  7. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
  8. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the fried chicken if not pre-cooked.
  10. Drizzle hot honey over the fried chicken pieces.
  11. Assemble by placing fried chicken on a biscuit and drizzling with more hot honey if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead tip: Biscuit dough freezes beautifully. Bake straight from the freezer with an extra couple of minutes. Avoid overworking the dough to keep biscuits tender.
