Description

Irresistibly crispy Mini Bloomin’ Onions paired with a rich, creamy buttermilk ranch dip, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For the ranch dip:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onions: Cut off the tops, peel, and slice a piece from the bottom for stability.
  2. Set Up Your Dipping Stations: Whisk together flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl. Pour buttermilk in another, and place breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Coat the Onions: Dip each onion in the flour, then buttermilk, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the Oil: Preheat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry to Perfection: Fry onions for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown, using a slotted spoon to drain on paper towels.
  6. Make the Ranch Dip: Combine mayonnaise, remaining buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, salt and pepper, and whisk until smooth.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Arrange Mini Bloomin’ Onions on a platter with ranch dip on the side.
