Description

A comforting one-pot meal featuring tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and orzo pasta infused with Cajun spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken, diced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Orzo Pasta
  • 2 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced chicken, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes, cooking until golden brown (5-7 minutes). Remove chicken and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the chopped onions and cook until translucent (3-4 minutes). Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant (30 seconds).
  3. Add the orzo to the skillet, stirring to coat with the onion and garlic mixture.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth, bringing to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender and absorbs most liquid, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and return the chicken to the skillet, adding Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasonings as needed.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a creamier dish, add extra splash of cream or cheese. Consider pre-cooking chicken and veggies for easier preparation.
