- 4 pieces Chicken Thighs
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 piece Green Chili, deseeded and chopped
- 2 tbsp Fresh Ginger, chopped
- 2 pieces Onions, diced
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 tsp Chili Powder
- 2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 2 tsp Ground Coriander
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 5 pieces Tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Fresh Coriander, chopped
- 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Salt to taste
- 100 ml Water
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs with turmeric, chili powder, salt, and half of the garlic and ginger. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the oil: In a cast iron skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Sauté aromatics: Add the remaining garlic, ginger, and diced onions to the pan. Cook until the onions turn golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chicken: Toss in the marinated chicken thighs, cooking them until browned on all sides.
- Introduce spices and tomatoes: Stir in the ground cumin, ground coriander, and garam masala. Follow with chopped tomatoes and mix well.
- Simmer: Add the water, followed by the green chili and lemon juice. Cover the skillet and let it simmer on low heat for 25-30 minutes.
- Finish with fresh coriander: Once the chicken is tender and the sauce has thickened, stir in fresh coriander.
- Serve with love: Serve your Chicken Bhuna hot, garnished with additional fresh coriander.
