Description

A delightful sandwich featuring crispy bacon, creamy avocado, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes layered between toasted sourdough bread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup of lettuce (romaine or arugula)
  • Tomato slices
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  2. Toast the sourdough slices in the same skillet until a golden-brown crust forms.
  3. Mash the ripe avocado in a mixing bowl, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Assemble by spreading mashed avocado on two slices of toasted sourdough.
  5. Layer crispy bacon over the avocado, followed by fresh lettuce and tomato slices.
  6. Top with the remaining slices of toasted sourdough and press down gently.
  7. Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the mashed avocado and cooked bacon separately in airtight containers for up to two days.
