Description

Delicious and cheesy Spinach Dip Mozzarella Sticks that combine the flavors of spinach dip and gooey mozzarella for a perfect snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Spices: garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper
  • 1 package (12 ounces) mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chopped spinach, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, sour cream, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
  2. Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick in half and encase them with the spinach mixture.
  3. Set up three shallow dishes for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Coat each wrapped stick in flour, dip in eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. In a deep skillet, heat about an inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  5. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.

Notes

Make the spinach mixture a day in advance for convenience. Fry in small batches to avoid sogginess.
