Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup salted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cups peaches (peeled and sliced; about 3 peaches)
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crumble: In a mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and mix just until crumbly.
  2. Layer the base: Spread half of the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×9 pan.
  3. Add the fruity layer: Nestle the sliced peaches and strawberries atop your crumb base.
  4. Make the syrup: In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir in water and heat until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the syrup evenly over the fruit layer.
  6. Top it off: Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture generously over the fruit.
  7. Bake: Place the pan in a preheated oven at 350°F and bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Finish with a broil (optional): For a crispy topping, broil for 2-3 minutes.
