Description
A delightful appetizer featuring crispy baguette slices topped with savory seasoned beef, creamy cheese, and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- Baguette
- Ground beef
- Cream cheese and/or goat cheese
- Fresh herbs (parsley, basil, or thyme)
- Garlic
- Onion
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Prep the Baguette: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick rounds. Arrange them on a baking sheet and drizzle lightly with olive oil. Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Cook the Beef: In a hot skillet, add a splash of olive oil. Once heated, add minced garlic and finely chopped onions, stirring until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you’d like. Cook thoroughly, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Assemble the Crostini: Spread a layer of cream cheese or goat cheese onto each toasted baguette slice. Then, top generously with the cooked beef. Sprinkle with fresh herbs of your choice.
- Serve Warm: Stylishly arrange the crostini on a platter and garnish with a sprinkle of herbs or chili flakes for color. Serve warm and watch them disappear!
Notes
Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the beef in advance and store it in the fridge. When you’re ready to serve, simply reheat and assemble with toasted bread.
