Description

A comforting and flavorful dish of tender beef and crisp-tender broccoli in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly, flank steak or sirloin preferred)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In your slow cooker, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Cook to perfection: Set your slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  3. Add the broccoli: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add your broccoli florets.
  4. Thicken the sauce: Mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the slow cooker.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Ladle your creation over a serving of fluffy rice.

Notes

Slice beef against the grain for best tenderness. Avoid overcooking the broccoli to retain color and crunch.
