- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup pesto sauce
- 4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce and tomato (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Carefully place the chicken breasts in the hot pan, cooking until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Toast the bread in the same skillet until golden brown on both sides.
- Spread pesto on one side of each slice of toast.
- Layer on one slice the sliced chicken and fresh mozzarella, then add lettuce and tomato if using.
- Top with another slice of bread, pesto side down.
- Serve immediately for the best experience.
