Description

An explosion of flavor with perfectly battered and fried beef in a sweet and spicy chili sauce, creating a delightful dining experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cornflour
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: In a mixing bowl, combine slices of beef with soy sauce, allowing to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the coating: Dredge the marinated beef strips in cornflour, ensuring each piece is coated.
  3. Heat the oil: In a wok or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to approximately 180°C (350°F).
  4. Fry the beef: Cook the beef in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Make the sauce: In a clean wok, combine sweet chili sauce with sautéed vegetables. Stir-fry briefly.
  6. Combine and serve: Toss the crispy beef in the sweet chili sauce and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier twist, consider baking the coated beef instead of frying.
