- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g., cheddar or Swiss)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional herbs for seasoning (fresh thyme or oregano)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to an even thickness.
- Cut the pastry into squares, roughly 4 inches by 4 inches.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese in the center of each square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a tower.
- Brush the tops of each pastry tower with beaten egg. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Transfer the towers onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
- Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.
Notes
