Description

A tender chicken dish enveloped in a creamy sauce, served over fluffy basmati rice, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. SautΓ© the onions in olive oil over medium heat until soft, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then increase heat and brown the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  5. Stir in paprika, cumin, and turmeric, cooking for 30 seconds.
  6. Pour in the cream and let it simmer until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.
  8. Serve the chicken over cooked basmati rice, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Marinating the chicken overnight can enhance the flavors. This dish can also be adapted for an air fryer or oven-baking.
