Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups Cooked Short Grain or Jasmine Rice (Hot when mixed with butter)
- 1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
- 1 large Egg
- 0.5 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce

Instructions
- Prepare the Rice: Start with your cooked short grain or jasmine rice while it’s still hot. Place it in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix with Butter: Add the unsalted butter to the bowl of rice. Stir gently until the butter melts and fully coats the grains.
- Heat the Skillet: In a non-stick skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Cook the Egg: Crack the large egg into the skillet and fry until the white is set, leaving the yolk slightly runny.
- Season the Rice: Drizzle in soy sauce and sprinkle chopped green onions over the rice. Toss everything together.
- Assemble: Plate the buttery rice mixture in a bowl and slide the cooked egg on top.
- Garnish: Finish with toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy while hot!
Notes
For vegan options, use tofu scramble instead of egg and vegan butter in place of regular butter.
