- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice (about 1 large orange)
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 tsp orange extract (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for whipping cream)
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- Orange zest for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Stir in melted unsalted butter until it resembles wet sand. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
- Make the filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and orange extract (if using). Beat until well combined.
- Whip the cream: In another bowl, whip heavy whipping cream with granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- Combine and set: Pour the filling onto the chilled crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Prepare the orange syrup: In a small saucepan, combine fresh orange juice with powdered sugar. Simmer on low heat until it thickens slightly. Let it cool.
- Serve the cheesecake: Drizzle cooled orange syrup over the top or garnish with additional orange zest before slicing. Serve cold.
Notes
Make a day ahead for enhanced flavors. Can be customized with different citrus fruits.
