- 2 slices bread (sourdough, whole wheat, or classic sandwich)
- 1 cup cooked chicken (sliced or shredded)
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 2 slices cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tbsp butter or mayonnaise
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Optional add-ons: tomato slices, red onion, spinach or arugula, hot sauce, or red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare Avocado: Slice or mash the avocado until creamy, and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Warm the Chicken: Heat the cooked chicken in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or warm in a skillet over medium heat.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Layer cheese on one slice of bread, followed by warm chicken, avocado, and any desired toppings. Cap it with another slice of cheese and bread.
- Butter the Outside: Spread a thin layer of butter or mayonnaise on both outer sides of the sandwich.
- Grill to Golden: Place the sandwich in the preheated skillet and grill for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Slice and Serve: Once golden, remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
