Deliciously crispy chicken sliders coated in honey mustard sauce, perfect for gatherings and casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized portions
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, quartered
  • Lettuce leaves, for topping (optional)
  • Sliced tomatoes, for topping (optional)
  • Pickle chips, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken pieces by cutting them into slider-sized portions.
  2. Set up the breading station with three shallow dishes: flour mixture, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Bread the chicken by dredging in the flour, then the eggs, and finally coating in panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Rest the breaded chicken for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the chicken and let it drain on a wire rack.
  8. Combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the sauce.
  9. Chill the sauce for at least 30 minutes.
  10. Prepare the slider buns by toasting them lightly.
  11. Spread the honey mustard sauce on both halves of each bun.
  12. Add a fried chicken piece to each bun and top with cheese and desired toppings.
  13. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

Make-ahead by prepping the sauce in advance and breading the chicken ahead of time. Avoid overcrowding the skillet when frying.
