Description

Delight in the harmonious blend of earthy matcha and crunchy pistachios with these fluffy, baked donuts.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons crushed pistachios (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease your donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and matcha powder until evenly blended.
  3. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  4. Carefully pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix gently to avoid overmixing.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, let the donuts cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  8. To prepare the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Dip each donut into the glaze and sprinkle with crushed pistachios.
  10. Serve warm and watch them disappear!

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use almond or coconut flour. Consider preparing the batter a day in advance.
