Description

A rich and decadent chocolate dessert with a chewy texture and nutty crunch, layered with fluffy frosting

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt) in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Incorporate the wet ingredients (melted butter and eggs) into the dry mixture until well combined.
  5. Add the mini marshmallows and chopped nuts, folding them gently into the batter.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes on a wire rack.
  8. Prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and a pinch of salt until creamy.
  9. Frost the cooled cake generously with the frosting.
  10. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

For variations, try adding caramel or peanut butter, or substitute dark chocolate for cocoa powder.
