Description

A savory dish featuring tender chicken simmered in a smoky barbecue sauce with a kick of chili powder, perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crockpot evenly, ensuring they are in a single layer.
  2. Mix the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken, making sure it’s well-coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Shred the chicken in the pot with two forks, mixing it with the sauce.
  6. Serve on soft buns or with various sides like rice or tacos.

Notes

For best results, allow chicken to marinate in sauce overnight and avoid overcooking on high heat.
