Description

A classic summer dessert featuring fluffy biscuits layered with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for whipped cream)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine your flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface until it comes together, then press to 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut out biscuits with a round cutter and place on a prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  8. Sprinkle strawberries with sugar and let sit for 30 minutes.
  9. Beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  10. Assemble by slicing biscuits in half, layering with strawberries and whipped cream.

Notes

Consider chilling your mixing bowls before whipping cream for fluffiness. Customize flavorings in the cream for variety.
